Older people who are particularly susceptible to loss of muscle mass can now prevent muscle weakness and relieve muscle atrophy simply by consuming two good and delicious foods.

As our bodies age, muscles become prone to weakening. Although this is a natural process, it can cause serious injuries to people, for example breaking the bone while falling.

Muscles grow and become larger and stronger from the moment of birth to the age of 30. After that, 3 to 5 percent of muscle mass can be lost every 10 years. After the age of 75, atrophy is generally accelerated.

This weakening of the muscles can make life more difficult and less pleasant. Loss of strength, skill and endurance can prevent us from engaging in activities such as gardening or hiking. Sometimes even walking alone becomes a dangerous task when muscle weakness is present.

Although muscular atrophy due to age is a natural condition, a new study has shown that this condition can be overcome. In fact, the appropriate nutritional supplement can stop the loss of muscle mass or prevent the condition from getting worse.

Apples and green tomatoes can stop the loss of muscle mass

Eating this fruit every day, can keep your muscles strong and healthy in the long run, regardless of your age. Who would have thought that a few apple slices or a portion of green tomatoes could be so powerful?

How does the combination of ursolic acid and tomatidine work?

A team of researchers from the University of Iowa found that these two compounds had an inhibiting effect on ATF4, a factor responsible for genetic weakening and aging of the muscles. Ursolic acid is found in apple peel and tomatidin in green tomatoes.

In an experiment with mice, the researchers found that after two months of using ursolic acid and tomatidine in the diet on mice, they showed a significant increase in muscle mass and muscle strength. Muscle mass increased by 10 percent and power by 30 percent.

An apple a day keeps you away from health problems

These latest research could soon lead to the emergence of new food supplements in the market, but why wait for it when you can get the same benefits from consuming fresh, raw fruit? Apples are tasty and healthy, and green tomatoes are delicious foods. Eat one apple a day, while green tomatoes can be added to salads.
